Land Owner Transparency Registry: A Public Database
As of April 30, 2021, the public can now search the Land Owner Transparency Registry. A search may be conducted by either the name of a person or by the parcel identifier of the property in question. The registry database is accessible through the myLTSA at a cost of $5.00 per search.
The type of information that can be found through the Land Owner Transparency Registry is described below:
Individuals
- Individual Name
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status
- If the Individual is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, the country of which the Individual is a citizen
- The City and Province (or City and Country) of the Individual’s principal residence
Corporation and Limited Liability Companies
- Corporation Name
- Corporation’s head office address
- Jurisdiction of the Corporation
- If the Corporation was recently continued or transferred into another jurisdiction, the jurisdiction that the Corporation was most recently continued or transferred
Partnerships
- Partnership name, if applicable
- Type of Partnership
- Partnership’s registered address or head office address
- Partnership’s principal business premises
- The Partnership’s governing jurisdiction
- Whether the Partnership has a partnership agreement
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the following information will not be accessible through the public registry:
- Individuals under the age of 19
- Individuals deemed incapable of managing their own financial affairs
- Individuals who have made successful applications to omit personal information from the public
- Information about individuals who have been registered in the Land Owner Transparency Registry system for 90 days or less
